Sudden, uncontrolled electrical disturbance in the brain. Patient may experience muscle convulsions and loss of consciousness.
Step-by-Step Guidance
Place a folded jacket, pillow, or towel under the patient's head to prevent skull trauma against the ground.

Move hard, sharp, or hot objects away to prevent impact injuries during convulsions.

Look at your watch and note the start and end time of the active convulsing phase.

When convulsions stop, gently turn them onto their side into the recovery position to keep airway open and clear fluids.

Talk to them calmly as they wake up. They will be confused, disoriented, and exhausted.
