Cuts or lacerations on the scalp. Scalp wounds bleed extremely heavily due to high density of superficial blood vessels.
Step-by-Step Guidance
Put on gloves. Scalp bleeding will spread blood quickly.

Press a sterile pad firmly onto the bleeding wound. Hold continuous pressure for 5-10 minutes.

Wrap a roller bandage around the forehead and back of skull to hold the pressure pad in place.

Check for dizziness, nausea, confusion, or pupils that react unequally to light.

Take the patient to emergency care. Scalp cuts frequently require surgical staples or sutures.
