Step-by-Step Guidance
Immediately activate emergency services. Instruct the patient not to move a muscle, especially the head and neck.

Kneel behind the patient's head. Place your hands on both sides of their head to keep it aligned and stable.

Talk to the patient calmly, telling them not to nod or shake their head in response. Tell them help is on the way.

Tuck a blanket around the sides of their body, avoiding moving the torso, to keep them warm.

If the patient is choking or vomiting, coordinate with multiple helpers to roll the entire body as a single unit.
